These stunning handcrafted diamond drop earrings by Created by Culture are the perfect balance of colour and class. These earrings transition seamlessly from day to night. Extremely lightweight, with the perfect amount of swing, making them perfect for everyday wear. Each earring is designed and handmade in Australia using traditional glass beads sourced from Ghana.
Glass beads are made from recycled glass bottles that would otherwise go to landfill. After sorting by colour, the glass bottles are pounded with a metal mortar and pestle, and sieved to get a very fine powder. The powder is compressed together then baked in a furnace causing the glass to melt together and the bead is formed.
Bead making is a traditional craft handed down by generations and forms an important part of Ghanaian culture. Particular beads are worn by chiefs and meant to represent wealth and status. We are excited to be supporting more Ghanaian artisans by adding the Created by Culture range to our collection.
